Using 3D data for cabinet engineering<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1520848440481{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”]With the WSCAD SUITE, you can display a cabinet designed in the Cabinet Engineering discipline as a 3D model. For this, you need 3D models for the components. WSCAD already provides 3D models for the demo project. You can import additional 3D models from the electrical CAD data portal wsacduniverse.com into the WSCAD SUITE. You then just have to assign the 3D model to the part of the component.<\/p>\n

Prerequisite<\/u>: You need the WSCAD SUITE Cabinet Engineering<\/strong> module in the Expert<\/strong> version for this purpose.[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1520848499307{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”]\n

  1. Check if 3D model exists in the WSCAD SUITE
    \n<\/strong>In the 3D view of the cabinet, you can check for which components no 3D models have been assigned to the component’s parts. These components are shown schematically as a cuboid.<\/li>\n
  2. Check if 3D model exists in wsacduniverse.com<\/strong>
    \nIf the 3D model does not exist in the WSCAD part database, check if the part and 3D model are present in the electrical CAD data portal wsacduniverse.com.<\/li>\n
  3. Download 3D model from wsacduniverse.com<\/strong>
    \nDownload the 3D model file locally to your PC in a directory of your choice.<\/li>\n
  4. Assign 3D model to the part<\/strong>
    \nAssign the 3D model to the part.<\/li>\n
  5. Change 3D model<\/strong>

      Note<\/u><\/span>: Components without a 3D model are shown schematically as a cuboid.<\/span><\/p>\n

      2.<\/strong> On the cabinet page, click on the context menu command Properties<\/strong> next to the component.<\/p>\n

      3.<\/strong> Click on the Customize symbol button in the Part<\/strong> row. The WSCAD part management opens.<\/p>\n

      a) Right-click in<\/span> any column header<\/span>.
      \nb) Click Show\/hide columns<\/strong>.
      \nc) Activate the 3D Model <\/strong>entry on the Normal <\/strong>tab.
      \nd) Click OK<\/strong>. The 3D Model <\/strong>column is displayed.<\/p>\n

      3<\/b>.<\/strong> Enter the part for which you need a 3D model in the Search<\/strong> field of the part management and click on the Search<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

        a) Click on the Registration <\/strong>link in the title bar of wscaduniverse.com.
        \nb) Enter your user data<\/span>.
        \nc) Click on the terms and conditions<\/strong> link and read the terms and conditions<\/span>.
        \nd) Select the check box I have read the terms and conditions and agree!<\/strong>.<\/span>
        \ne) Finally, click Now<\/strong> register<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

        3. <\/strong>If you already have a user account<\/span>:<\/p>\n

        a) Enter your email address and password in the two fields<\/span>.

        4. <\/strong>The homepage of wscaduniverse.com opens<\/span>.<\/p>\n

        5<\/b>.<\/strong> In the Search<\/strong> field of wscaduniverse.com, enter the part for which you need a 3D model, e.g., CPX-2ZE2DA from the company Festo, and then click the Search<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

        6<\/b>.<\/strong> The search results are displayed in the part list. If a 3D model exists, the 3D Data<\/strong> button is displayed.<\/p>\n

        Downloading the 3D model from wsacduniverse.com<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1680769981653{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”]The 3D data provided in wsacduniverse.com can be downloaded locally to your PC. If the part does not already exist in the WSCAD part database, you can immediately import it into the WSCAD SUITE.<\/p>\n

        Depending on the part, the following download options are offered:<\/p>\n

        \nYou can save the 3D model directly as a STEP file in a directory of your choice.<\/p>\n

        \"\"
        \nYou can download the Cadenas 3D model and save it in a directory of your choice.<\/p>\n

        2.<\/strong> Click in the part list on the 3D Data<\/strong> button at the desired part.<\/p>\n

        3. <\/strong>If you are downloading 3D data for the first time, you need to register with Cadenas<\/span>:<\/p>\n

        a) Click on the Accept license agreement<\/strong> link and read the license terms<\/span>.
        \nb) Then select the Accept license agreement<\/strong> check box in front of the link<\/span>.
        \nc) Enter your email address in the Email Address<\/strong> field and click on the symbol button at the end of the field<\/span>
        \nd) Enter your user data and then click OK<\/strong>, You have successfully registered with Cadenas<\/span><\/p>\n

        4. <\/strong>Click on the CAD download <\/strong>button<\/span>.<\/p>\n

        5<\/b>.<\/strong> Select the desired STEP-CAD format.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Note<\/u>: Both STEP formats offered can be used for the 3D view.         8.<\/strong> If you want to download more 3D models, repeat the previous steps.<\/span><\/p>\n

        9. <\/strong>Close the wscaduniverse.com window.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Assigning the 3D model to the part<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]You must assign the downloaded STEP file to the part. A 3D model is created in the form of an obj and an mtl file.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”597″ image_size=”full” animation_type=”entrance” animation=”Fade In” animation_easing=”default” animation_movement_type=”transform_y” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][vc_column_text]1.<\/strong> Click in the main menu of the WSCAD SUITE on Tools <\/strong>| Master data <\/strong>| Part management<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

        2.<\/strong> Enter the part for which you downloaded the 3D model in the Search<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n

        3. <\/strong>Click in a cell of the part and press the F4 key<\/span>.<\/p>\n

        4<\/b>.<\/strong> Scroll to the WSCAD field 3D Model<\/strong> and click on the Customize symbol button at the end of the row. The 3D Properties dialog opens.<\/p>\n

        5<\/b>.<\/strong> Click at the bottom of the 3D Model<\/strong> field on the Customize symbol button.<\/p>\n

        6<\/b>.<\/strong> In the Explorer, select the item STEP (*.stp;*.step)<\/strong> in the drop-down list behind the File name<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n

        7. <\/strong>Navigate to the storage location of the unpacked ZIP file and select the STEP file<\/span>.<\/p>\n

        8. <\/strong>The 3D model is automatically created from the STEP file and stored as obj and mtl files in the WSCAD directory “<\/span>3DObjects”<\/span>. The 3D model is displayed in the 3D Properties dialog<\/span>.[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1520850875382{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”]\n

        Changing the 3D model<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In the 3D Properties dialog, you can customize the 3D model if required. For example, the 3D model may not be aligned properly. In that case, you must define a front side.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”599″ image_size=”full” animation_type=”entrance” animation=”Fade In” animation_easing=”default” animation_movement_type=”transform_y” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”][vc_column_text]1. <\/strong>Define the front view in the Define the front view<\/strong> area. The view set here is defined as a front view when saving the dialog<\/span>:<\/p>\n

        a)\u00a0 You can rotate the component in the 90\u00b0 grid around the 3 axes via the symbol buttons A<\/strong>, B<\/strong> and 1, 2, 3, 4<\/strong>. Blue-bordered symbol buttons show the front view suggested by the program<\/span>.
        \nb)\u00a0 You can also rotate the component with the symbol buttons outside the 90\u00b0 grid and zoom in and out of the component. However, the front view can only be stored without zooming in the 90\u00b0 grid. Use the right arrow symbol button to jump to the front view closest to your setting in the 90\u00b0 grid. This view is also saved. <\/span><\/p>\n

        2.<\/strong> If the X, Y and Z axes below the Define the front view<\/strong> area are shown in green, the dimensions resulting from the rotation match the dimensions from the part record. If one or more axes are shown in yellow, the dimensions differ slightly from one another; if they are shown in red, the deviation is considerable. When saving, the component is adapted to the part dimensions<\/span>.<\/p>\n

        3.<\/strong> You can display the following dimensions via the Details<\/strong> link:<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        • Part<\/span><\/strong>: Dimensions in mm, which are read from the part record.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Rotated 3D model<\/span><\/strong>: Dimensions in mm resulting from the rotated 3D model.
          \nNote: Clicking the symbol button 1<\/strong> without setting any rotation angles takes you back to the orientation originally defined for the 3D model. <\/span><\/li>\n
        • Current rotation angle<\/span><\/strong>: Shows the rotation angles generated by the selected symbol buttons.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          4.<\/strong> You may be able to fix presentation problems with the Scalable<\/strong> check box<\/span>:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • Activated (default): For the 3D view, the dimensions stored in the part are used. This can lead to distortions in round elements.<\/span><\/li>\n
          • D<\/span>eactivated: For the 3D view, the dimensions stored in the STEP file are used.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            5.
