AI Copilot (AI = Artificial Intelligence) from WSCAD ELECTRIX AI software is an innovative tool that makes it much easier to create and edit electrical engineering documentation. This digital assistant uses artificial intelligence to support engineers and technicians in the planning, design and documentation of electrical systems. It helps to automate repetitive tasks and optimize workflows. This more efficient way of working speeds up the design process and increases the quality of the documentation.
AI Copilot is controlled using simple text commands. You can ask questions or give very specific instructions, which AI Copilot will then carry out for you. It doesn’t matter whether you are an expert or an occasional user.
Notes
- To use AI Copilot, you need a valid rental or maintenance contract and a working Internet connection.
- You can start AI Copilot via the main menu View | Additional windows.
- You can activate or deactivate AI Copilot in the WSCAD settings.
- Please check the results of your instructions. The results may vary depending on the level of detail of your requests.
In the AI Copilot dialog you will find four examples of how to ask questions or give instructions.
With the next ELECTRIX AI update, you will be able to enter a hash # followed by letters and/or numbers in the AI Copilot input field and the corresponding hits will then be displayed in a list. You can limit the hits to symbols, parts and macros. The selected hit is inserted in the input field.
You can rate the answers of AI Copilot positively or negatively using the thumb symbols. This helps to improve the quality of the suggested answers.
Request information
You can obtain urgently needed information with the help of AI Copilot. For example, it can help you search for a specific component. Within a few moments, it displays the relevant project name and the date of the last change. If desired, the project can then be opened directly.

Find functions and settings and have them explained
You can ask AI Copilot questions directly to have a function explained or where you can find the settings for it. This means that even less experienced users can benefit from the handling and perform more challenging tasks.
- How do I change the colors of the components in the cabinet?
- How to define new line patterns?
- How to switch on the snap?
- Explain the steps to export a PDF.
Execute functions
You can also instruct AI Copilot to carry out functions for you. This can also be several commands in succession. Instead of having to perform many individual clicks and know how to operate the software, you only need a few commands. This allows you to complete even complex tasks within seconds.
- Create a new project with the name “Steam Press” for the customer “Miller”.
- Create a material list with the parameters part number, manufacturer and quantity.
- Place the following macros on the open page: CPU, PLC-DA, PLC-DE and PLC potentials.
Find errors in the project
Let AI Copilot find the errors in your project. If, for example, projects from different templates are merged, errors can easily occur that affect the entire process. AI Copilot can search the project for typical errors such as open connections, missing part assignments or incomplete terminal charts in a matter of seconds. This leads to an improved quality of the documentation created.
